UX/UI Design in Raleigh NC
Meticulous with details, I am a creative and logical problem solver. I love to figure things out and create structure from chaos. At just two years old, I excelled in solving puzzles, testing off the charts in exercises designed for kids up to 12—an early indicator of my talent for ingenuity and creative problem solving!
I graduated with Summa Cum Laude Honors, from the College of Design at North Carolina State University concentrating in Art & Industrial Design.
Before transitioning to UX, I managed an interior design firm for over 10 years, honing strong leadership and project management skills. This experience equipped me with insights into user behaviors, accessibility concerns, and user-centered design principles—elements that greatly influence my approach to crafting intuitive and user-centered digital experiences in UX design.
I embrace a lifelong learning mindset, sharpening my skills through various educational platforms and professional organizations like UXPA, to stay abreast of industry trends and best practices. Recently, I’ve been focused on integrating cutting-edge technologies like AI, while also prioritizing inclusivity and ethical considerations. My commitment to Accessibility is evident in my case study for Boulder Food Rescue’s website redesign.
My friends and colleagues say I’m a great listener, an excellent communicator, and highly empathetic. I’m also told I have a quick wit and a great sense of humor.
When I’m not designing, I love spending time in nature, traveling, making things with power tools, blacksmithing, pottery, photography, dancing, and—of course—puppies!

PRINCIPAL at INDIGO INC.
2004 – Present
I started Indigo Inc. in 2004. For a number of years, it was primarily focused on interior design and some graphic design. In 2016, after helping 100’s of residential and commercial clients, I realized that I enjoyed graphic and web design and strategy that I was doing much more than interiors, so I pivoted and began to focus the business on print graphics, UX/UI and visual design.
VISUAL & GRAPHIC DESIGNER at NORTH CAROLINA STATE UNIVERSITY
(part time) 2019 – Present
Although I excel at working independently, I also enjoy being part of a team, brainstorming with coworkers and the camaraderie that comes with it. So, a couple of days a week, I have the pleasure of working with the marketing and communications department in the Dean’s Office of the College of Natural Resources.
MANAGER AND LEAD DESIGNER at BEYONDBLUE INTERIORS
2005 – 2016
For over 10 years, I managed a small team of designers, ensured that the whole operation ran as smoothly as possible, and made sure that our clients had the best experience possible! Additionally, I designed a 3,000-square-foot showroom along with display systems and signage. I also provided design direction on 2 websites, and created all visual and graphic designs including email and marketing campaigns, 100’s of magazine ads, posters and window displays. I still provide visual and graphic designs for the wonderful owners of BeyondBlue!
“PAST LIVES“
Fresh out of college, I taught art in the UK and US and worked as a portrait photographer.

I also use tools like Mira and Mural, and organizational and project management tools like Asana and gantt charts in addition to Google suite and Microsoft products.

School of Life 😉
I am a perpetual learner. I have taken multiple continuing education classes from technical schools, craft schools, and online programs like Coursera, LinkedIn Learning, and Udemy. I am currently completing the Google UX Design Certificate in addition to following multiple UX-focused Podcasts LinkedIn Groups and YouTube channels to stay up to date with the latest UX trends.
I love designing and creating things with my hands. I enjoy things like blacksmithing, pottery and felting as well as building things and DIY. (I recently turned a cargo van into a self-built camper van, complete with a solar electrical system and shower!)
I also love to travel and enjoy photography. I had the wonderful experience of combining the two when a client asked me to photograph coffee farms in Ethiopia, Bolivia, and Columbia.
I love spending unplugged time hiking and camping in nature and working with natural materials to create crafts.
I often volunteer with non-profits and organizations that support sustainable and earth-friendly initiatives.
